HOBOKEN, N.J., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Three teenage boys from Hoboken, N.J., have been arrested and charged with killing a disabled, homeless man, police said.
The teens -- two 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old -- were arrested Friday and charged with murder for the Sept. 10 death of Ralph Erick Santiago, 46, The Jersey Journal, Jersey City, N.J., reported.
Hudson County Acting Prosecutor Gaetano T. Gregory said police believe the boys followed Santiago and punched him in the back of the head during a game of "knockout."
The boys are being held at the Hudson County Youth Detention Center, Gregory said.
Meanwhile, the community expressed shock.
Craig Davis, 56, said he knew the victim.
"He went to the eighth Street shelter. He didn't bother anybody. He talked to himself in public but maybe that's why he was attacked," Davis said.
"It's a bad thing they did," Davis said of the three teens. "Their whole lives are ruined."
