Man, girlfriend, indicted for murder of 4 young people

CROSSVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A Tennessee man and his girlfriend have been indicted on murder charges for allegedly killing four young people in what prosecutors call a drug deal gone bad.

A Cumberland County grand jury Friday indicted Jacob Allen Bennett, 26, and Brittany Lina Yvonn Moser, 25, on four counts of felony murder and two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, CNN reported. The grand jury charged Bennett with four counts of premeditated murder as well.

The charges stem from an incident Sept. 12 in which Bennett and Moser allegedly attempted to rob two of the victims -- Domonic Davis, 17, and Rikki Jacobsen, 22 -- during a marijuana deal.

Prosecutors said the altercation resulted in the suspects fatally shooting Davis and Jacobsen, who were in the front seat of a vehicle, as well as Stephen Presley, 17, and Jonathan Lajeunesse, 16, who were in the back seat.

The victims were discovered on Sept. 13 on a road on Renegade Mountain.

"It's something that reverberates through the entire community," said school district Superintendent Donald Andrews. "The loss of life is always tough, and especially (so) when it's young people."
