IDANHA, Ore., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- One person was killed Monday when a private logging helicopter crashed in remote terrain near Idanha, Ore., officials said.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller told KATU-TV, Portland, the helicopter landed upside down near Blowout Road, not far from Idanha, which is on Highway 22 east of Salem.

It wasn't clear if the pilot was the only person on board, Mueller said.

A Forest Service law enforcement officer was on the scene and investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration had been notified, the TV station said.
