6.0-magnitude earthquake strikes Alaska

ATKA, Alaska, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck just off the coast of the Aleutian Islands in Alaska Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 13.6 miles, about 51 miles from Atka, Alaska, the center said.

The epicenter was 952 miles south-southeast of Anadyr, Russia, 1,121 miles east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia, 1,131 miles east of Yelizovo, Russia, and 1,626 miles west of Whitehorse, Canada, USGS reported.

No no injuries or damage was reported.
