SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Santa Ana, Calif., police said Saturday they found the bodies of two children in a hotel room after a woman who tried to commit suicide told them where to look.

The woman, whose name was not reported, drove a car into steel poles behind a home improvement store in Costa Mesa, Calif., at about 8 a.m. PDT. After rescue crews pulled her from the car, she told authorities about the two children, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Santa Ana Police Department officers went to the hotel room and found the children's bodies at about 8:20 a.m..

Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said no information on the children's ages, gender or cause of death would be released, pending a coroner's report.

There was no word on the condition of the woman who crashed the car, or her relationship to the children. She was taken to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif., the Times reported.
