Man suing Hernandez skips Connecticut grand jury

BOSTON, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- A Suffolk County, Mass., grand jury is encountering problems in getting two men with ties to accused killer Aaron Hernandez to testify.

Alexander Bradley, of East Hartford, Conn., a former associate of Hernandez, the ex-New England Patriots tight end who pleaded not guilty last week to murder and firearms charges in the June 17 death of Odin L. Lloyd, failed to appear in a Connecticut court to argue against testifying in Boston.

A warrant was issued for Bradley's arrest, and of the second man, John Alcorn of Bristol, Conn., was ordered over his objection to appear at the grand jury, the Boston Herald reported Wednesday.

Officials are investigating whether Hernandez is linked to a 2012 double slaying in Boston, the newspaper said.

Bradley is suing Hernandez in a Florida civil suit, accusing Hernandez of shooting him in the face. The civil case has been postponed, pending the outcome of the Hernandez criminal trial.
