PHOENIX, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Two Phoenix police officers were shot while seeking a suspect allegedly involved in a Mesa, Ariz., shooting, officials said.
The unidentified officers found a car believed to be involved in the shooting of a woman in Mesa, and pursued it until the driver could be taken into custody Tuesday. A passenger in the vehicle escaped, hid in a nearby carport, and shot at the officers with buckshot or bird shot from a sawed-off shotgun as they searched for him, the (Phoenix) Arizona Republic reported Wednesday.
