Boyett, 23, was on the team's reserve/non-football injury list, the Indianapolis Star reported.
He was arrested about 3 a.m. Monday on preliminary charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement after he was denied entrance to a nightclub.
Boyett was released after posting $150 bond.
Police said Boyett was injured slightly on his arm and elbow when he fell while running from officers.
Boyett told officers, "You can't arrest me. I'm a Colts player," a police report said.
He was a sixth-round draft pick by the Colts in the 2013 draft. While at the University of Oregon, Boyett notched 278 tackles, 30 passes defensed and 10 interceptions.
