The Galveston County jury took 20 minutes Friday to convict Alisha Marie Drake, 24, of Bacliff, Texas, of producing a performance for a videotape she recorded that depicted undisclosed sexual abuse of Drake's 16-month-old daughter in February by the infant's grandfather, Jason Grant, 34.
If convicted on child sex abuse charges Grant faces a potential 99 years in prison.
After convicting Drake, jurors took just 30 minutes longer to decide on the 15-year sentence, the Houston Chronicle said.
Alvin Poole, the chief child abuse prosecutor in the Galveston County District Attorney's office said jurors were visibly upset when made to watch the video.
"I respect the jury's verdict," Poole said, calling the case "one of the worst I've ever seen."
The report did not indicate whether Grant is the baby's maternal or paternal grandfather.
