Secret Service seizes weapons cache prior to Obama visit

SCRANTON, Pa., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Scranton, Pa., police raided a home in advance of President Barack Obama's visit after the Secret Service said the suspect had threatened violence.

The Lackawanna County SWAT Team and Clarks Summit, Pa., police raided a duplex Thursday and removed a substantial amount of weapons and ammunition, The (Scranton, Pa.) Times-Tribune said. Obama traveled to Scranton by bus after spending Thursday and early Friday touring upstate New York.

The Secret Service declined to release the suspect's name or the nature of the threats but said the man did not live in Pennsylvania.
