ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A Florida man is in jail after allegedly using a smartphone application to meet and have sex with a 16-year-old boy on a trip to Disney World, police said.
Rodney Hartsell, 43, is being held at Orange County Jail on child sex charges after investigators said he used a mobile app popular among gay men to meet and solicit sex with the teen. The boy was in Orlando on a charity-sponsored trip with family because his sister has cancer, the Orlando Sentinel said.
The teen convinced his parents to let him visit Disney's Magic Kingdom alone, where he met up with Hartsell, who took the teen to his home, where he photographed him naked before they had sex, police allege. Police said Hartsell knew the boy was underage.
The teen's father alerted police after finding the images on his son's phone.
