Search for missing Missouri girl, 12, halted after body found

GOLDEN CITY, Mo., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Authorities in southwest Missouri say they've called off a search for 12-year-old Adrianna Horton after a body was found west of Golden City, Mo.

The remains have yet to be confirmed as those of the girl, who vanished Monday afternoon from a Golden City park, KLOR-TV in Springfield reported Wednesday.

Bobby Bourne, 34, was charged Tuesday with kidnapping. Police said Bourne knew the family and had worked with the girl's father, James, on a construction project.

Horton said he had taken care of Bourne's family last year while he was in jail, giving Bourne's wife a job and buying the family groceries,KLOR-TV reported.
