WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- The sons of two conservative Supreme Court justices are working at the Washington offices of litigation giant Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, The Hill reported.

The newspaper said the firm, founded in Los Angeles, recently hired Philip Alito, the son of Justice Samuel Alito, as part of its incoming fall associate class.

Eugene Scalia, son of Justice Antonin Scalia and former solicitor for the U.S. Labor Department, a partner at Gibson Dunn since 2003, left and returned to the firm several times over the years.

The Hill said Philip Alito also returned to the firm after clerking for Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. He was an associate for the 2011 summer class at Gibson Dunn.

Gibson Dunn employs more than 1,000 lawyers in offices worldwide, and its attorneys have argued more than 100 cases before the Supreme Court, including the landmark the campaign finance case Citizens United vs. FEC, The Hill said.

Eugene Scalia does not argue before the Supreme Court or share in the firm's Supreme Court case income to avoid a conflict of interest.
