Celebrity Cruises said the Millennium will be out of service for repairs until Sept. 22, when it begins a 15-day cruise from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., through the Panama Canal, USA Today reported.
Passengers on the interrupted cruise and on those that have been scrubbed will receive full refunds and certificates for a future cruise, the line said.
The Millennium has been in Ketchikan since Sunday with one of its two propulsion motors broken. The U.S. Coast Guard ordered it to remain in port until the trouble is repaired, The (Vancouver, British Columbia) Province reported.
The cruise began last Friday in Vancouver and was scheduled to end in Seward, Alaska, next Friday.
The Millennium's engine problems began early this month. On Aug. 9, it arrived late in Seward, spent three days there for emergency repairs and then canceled all ports of call on its southbound voyage.
