BUFFALO, N.Y., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- An former parking meter mechanic who stole $210,000 in coins from meters in Buffalo, N.Y., was sent to prison Friday, the same day two more suspects cropped up.

James Bagarozzo, 58, who admitted taking hundreds of thousands of quarters from city parking meters over an eight-year period received a 2 1/2-year prison term, The Buffalo News reported.

The newspaper said sources it described as close to the FBI's probe said two former city parking meter collectors, Mark S. Carlson and Franklin A. Lopez Jr., are suspected of pocketing thousands of dollars in meter revenue.

The FBI and city Parking Commissioner Kevin Helfer declined to discuss the case with the News, and Lopez and Carlson could not be reached for comment.

Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda indicated the investigation is ongoing.

"We are looking at other people," he told reporters. "The case is ongoing. There may be more to it."
