BOSTON, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Two television networks must drop planned films about Hillary Clinton if they want to carry the 2016 GOP presidential debates, Republican leaders said Friday.

The threat was made against CNN and NBC in a unanimous vote by the Republican National Committee, The Hill reported.

The resolution, titled "In support of media objectivity and accountability," said the planned films were "political favoritism." It charged the networks were planning to air "programming that amounts to little more than extended commercials promoting former Secretary Clinton."

Before the vote, chairman Reince Preibus said, "We don't have time for the media's games. We're done putting up with this nonsense. There are plenty of other news outlets."
