7 killed in fiery Indiana truck-SUV crash

RENSSELAER, Ind., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- A semi-trailer truck slammed into the rear of a stopped sport utility vehicle in Indiana, creating a fiery crash that killed seven people, state police said.

The victims in the Thursday night collision, which occurred as traffic backed up near a construction zone on northbound Interstate 64 in northern Indiana's Jasper County, included four young children, The Indianapolis Star reported.

State police said in a release the tractor-trailer rig pushed the Jeep into another semi-trailer truck in front, causing the SUV to explode.

The newspaper said those killed were identified as Amado Mangual, 49, Lindsey Williams, 27, Yazmin Goldman, 5, and Arielle Goldman, 3, all of Merrillville, Ind.; and Jamin Jamin Osborne, 5, Jasmin Osborne, 7, and Yvette Williams, 35, all of Atlanta.
