RICHARDSON, Texas, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- A Richardson, Texas, man accidentally shot his elderly wife while they were at home watching television, police said.
Police responded Sunday evening to a call about the shooting from a local hospital where the couple went after the woman was struck in the abdomen by a bullet fired from the man's Colt .380 Mustang handgun while he was reloading it, the Dallas Morning News reported Monday.

The names of the couple were not released.
"She was very, very lucky," said Richardson Police Sgt. Kevin Perlich said. "It looks like it was strictly accidental."
