Bulger, who was convicted on a majority of a sweeping, 32-count federal indictment Monday, said the ring was a gift from a third party but it was unclear who had given it to him. The Boston Globe reported Bulger was also amenable to giving up guns, ammunition, knives and other items seized from the Santa Monica, Calif., residence where he was apprehended in 2011.
The $822,000 was hidden in the home's walls.
Bulger once paid for a wedding between former Montreal Canadiens player Chris Nilan, who married Karen Stanley, daughter of Bulger's late girlfriend, Teresa Stanley.
Nilan and Karen Stanley are now divorced.
