CONCORD, N.H., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire mother who was ordered by school officials to stop praying in front of her daughter's school said she may file a lawsuit.
Liza Urena said she began praying in front of Concord High School after her daughter was bullied and she was dissatisfied with the school's response. Urena said she prays for about 15 minutes each day at the school's front entrance and includes well wishes for her daughter's bullies and teachers, staff and students at the school.
Urena told the Manchester Union Leader she'd gotten overwhelmingly favorable reactions from staff at the school but when the Wisconsin-based group Freedom From Religion got wind of her practice they complained to the district superintendent who ordered Urena to stop.
Religious groups have since rallied around Urena. A state lawmaker has said he's helping Urena find a lawyer to sue the school district for allegedly violating her First Amendment right to freedom of expression.
