POTTER, Pa., July 11 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his ex-wife as she played the organ during a Sunday church service in December.

Gregory Eldred, 53, pleaded guilty in Potter County Court Wednesday to first-degree murder in the death of Darlene Sitler, a music teacher at the Northern Potter Children's School, the Potter (Pa.) Leader-Enterprise reported.

Prosecutors said Eldred shot Sitler, 53, at the First United Presbyterian Church of Coudersport, Pa., just after 11 a.m. Dec. 2, left the church, and then returned to shoot her two more times.

"Are these facts accurate?" President Judge Stephen Minor asked Eldred.

"Yes," Eldred answered.

Prosecutors did not provide details on Eldred's motive but District Attorney Andy Watson told the court Eldredd had devised "a detailed plan to kill his ex-wife due to information she possessed," The Bradford (Pa.) Era reported.

As part of a plea agreement, Eldred consented to serve a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole.

He is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday.
