Woman leaves Florida hospital before learning she has TB

TAMPA, Fla., July 10 (UPI) -- A woman who left a Florida hospital not knowing she tested positive for tuberculosis has been located, Tampa police said.

Sarah Williams, 53, ignored the advice of doctors and left Tampa General Hospital before receiving the results of her TB test, The Tampa Bay (Fla.) Times reported Wednesday.

Williams, who is homeless, was found Tuesday evening and taken by ambulance back to Tampa General, police said.

Tuberculosis is a potentially serious bacterial lung infection that is spread by coughing and sneezing.
