Dalila, with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, was about 185 miles west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, moving in a westerly direction at 5 mph, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 5 a.m. EDT advisory.
No coastal watches or warnings were in effect.
Dalila was expected to maintain slow motion toward the west or west-southwest during the next 48 hours, forecasters said.
Tropical storm-force winds extended outward from center up to 80 miles.
