3 same-sex marriage activists arrested at Sen. Marco Rubio's office

TAMPA, Fla., June 26 (UPI) -- South Florida police arrested three same-sex marriage activists who staged a sit-in at the Tampa office of Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.

The three were released after being charged with trespassing and obstruction, Politico reported Wednesday.

A police spokeswoman said the demonstration was interfering with the business of the office so the protesters were asked to leave.

The three were arrested when they refused.

The LGBT group GetEqual said the protest involved the senator's position on same-sex couple rights in immigration reform.
