The strike at Camp Bell in Gilmanton, near Lake Winnipesaukee, occurred at around 7:30 p.m., the New Hampshire Union Leader reported. Emergency workers transported 25 boys and three adults to a nearby fire station.
Belmont Fire Chief David Parenti said seven boys had burns he described as minor, while six were taken to area hospitals for treatment of more serious burns. The adults, all camp employees, declined medical treatment.
The scouts, ages 12-16, were at Camp Bell for a statewide leadership conference.
Greg Osborne, a spokesman for the Daniel Webster Scout Council, said all the injured scouts were "conscious and alert."
