HOUSTON, June 24 (UPI) -- A 787 Dreamliner, which took off from Houston, was grounded because of mechanical problems, the second such incident for the aircraft in a week, officials said.
United Airlines Flight 94 took off from Houston Sunday en route to Denver before it experienced a problem with the brake indicator, CNN reported Monday.
The plane returned to the airport from which it originated and landed with no passenger injuries, said Boeing, which makes the Dreamliner.
This was the second grounding of a 787 Dreamliner in a week. United Airlines diverted a flight from Denver to Tokyo to Seattle because of an issue with the plane's oil filter, CNN said.
The mechanical issues come six months after the FAA grounded all 787 Dreamliners because of problems with their battery systems.
"The 787 is a great airplane and we know it will continue to receive heightened attention when reliability events occur in service," Boeing spokeswoman Yvonne Leach said.
United Airlines is the only domestic airline in the United States to currently fly the Dreamliner. It recently ordered 20 more planes from Boeing, CNN reported.
