Vermont state police said a shooting that left two men dead appears to be a murder-suicide.
The shooting occurred Wednesday morning in Peacham, Vt. Police at the scene believe the ex-husband of a woman shot her current husband, then killed himself.
Jeannie Peabody called police to report a white van at her house around 7 a.m., police said. Her husband, Mark Peabody, went outside to talk to the driver. Jeannie Peabody told police she then heard gunshots and went into her basement and then to a neighbor's house to call 911.
She had not seen her husband since she heard gunshots.
They found her husband, 50, and 59-year-old John Jackson of Amherst, N.H. dead inside the home.
