SAN FRANCISCO, June 20 (UPI) -- Two San Francisco landlords who took drastic measures to evict apartment tenants have pleaded guilty to three felonies, court officials said.
Kip Macy, 38, and his wife Nicole Macy, 37, who were called the "landlords from hell" by prosecutors, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of residential burglary, stalking and attempted grand theft.
They will be sentenced Aug. 22, and per a plea deal, are expected to receive a prison term of four years and four months, CNN said.
From 2005 to 2007, the pair attempted to evict apartment tenants from a building they recently purchased, the San Francisco Examiner said.
When the five tenants wouldn't leave, the Macys cut chunks from ceiling beams, cut large holes in the floor of a living room and soaked tenants' belongings in ammonia.
Kip Macy bought a semiautomatic handgun and threatened to shoot the couple's former property manager after he refused to help make the building structurally unsound, CNN reported.
The pair also broke into one of the units and stuffed almost all the tenants' belongings into garbage bags, stealing $1,800.
The Macys fled the country in 2009 after a grand jury charged them with the crimes, but were arrested in Milan, Italy, last year and extradited last month.
