Anthony may 'disappear' if lawsuits not ended, attorneys caution

June 20, 2013 at 4:18 PM   |   Comments

ORLANDO, Fla., June 20 (UPI) -- Casey Anthony may "simply disappear" if the lawsuits against her are not dismissed by a Florida court, her bankruptcy attorneys say.

Two defamation lawsuits filed against Anthony were stopped when she filed for bankruptcy, but the plaintiffs want the suits to continue, the Orlando [Fla.] Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Anthony will suffer if the cases are allowed to proceed, the attorneys argued in a memorandum filed June 10.

"She will either defend the cases or be forced to default because she has no money," they said.

Anthony "will be forced to find new accommodations, or just simply disappear and say it is not worth the fight anymore," they added.

Anthony was acquitted in 2011 of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Roy Kronk, the meter reader who found the toddler's body, charges in his suit that Anthony's defense attorneys defamed him when they implicated him in the murder. In the second suit, Zenaida Gonzalez says her reputation was harmed when Anthony testified a woman with the same name kidnapped the baby.
