LOS ANGELES, May 27 (UPI) -- "Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz posted a handwritten note on his Facebook page thanking fans for their support of the recently revived U.S. sitcom.

Hurwitz's Facebook message begins, "To our friends, fans, supporters, detractors, haters, enemies, and arch enemies,"

"I'm writing on behalf of everyone who has worked so hard to bring back a show that's very special to us to say thank you for your ardent support of this show with the exception of the haters, detractors, etc.," he wrote. "We are also grateful for another chance to bring these characters to life and could not have done so without your consistent effort to 'spread the word' about it. ... It's been our great joy to bring this to you on Netflix where you can access it whenever and however you want. Except, you know, it's really meant to be watched in order."

The critically acclaimed but low-rated show about a wealthy dysfunctional family was canceled in 2006 after three seasons but has had a second life on DVD.

Netflix revived the series for a 15-episode fourth season to stream in its entirety for its subscribers, which started Sunday.

Most of the series' original cast -- including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat -- have returned for the show.
