N.Y. police probing possible cyberbullying in girl's suicide

NEW YORK, May 24 (UPI) -- New York police say they are looking into the death of a 12-year-old girl who apparently killed herself after being bullied online.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said officers had taken two computers from the home of Gabrielle Molina to determine whether online messages and cyberbullying were a factor in her death, CNN reported Friday.

Police have interviewed her friends and relatives, Kelly said.

Family members found Molina hanging by a belt in a bedroom of her Queens home Wednesday afternoon, the New York Post reported.

Her 15-year-old sister broke down the door to the room after Gabrielle didn't answer.

The girl left behind a note apologizing to her family and detailing how classmates had constantly harassed her.
