NEW YORK, May 23 (UPI) -- Victoria Gotti, the widow of the late New York Mafia crime boss John Gotti, has been hospitalized for a stroke, the New York Daily News reports.

The newspaper reported Thursday that one source said Gotti, 70, suffered her third stroke since 2006 last week and another source said it was a very serious episode.

The Daily News said Gotti's daughter, Linda Gotti, could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Producer Marc Fiore, who has been involved in a film project about the life of Gotti's son, John Gotti Jr., declined to comment, saying he is not a family spokesman.

"This is a personal family crisis," Fiore said.
