WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., May 8 (UPI) -- A math tutor who owned an adult entertainment firm is suing a Florida school district for making him take down his tutoring advertisements.

David Mech, 36, known as "the Happy/Fun Math Tutor," charges in a federal lawsuit that his civil rights were violated and he is seeking undisclosed damages, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Mech, who tutors Boca Raton, Fla., teens, is known in the adult entertainment business as Dave Pounder, the "Happy/Fun Porn Guy." He owns an adult entertainment business and has performed in X-rated films.

A representative of the Palm Beach County schools said officials had no idea about Mech's other work when it allowed him to place a banner at district schools advertising his math tutoring company.

Parents at one of the schools, Spanish River High, learned about his past a year ago and confronted the district which subsequently ordered the signs removed.

In his suit, Mech argues the tutoring business is a separate entity from his adult film company that stopped producing porn in 2010.
