'Charlie Brown' actor gets jail for threatening, stalking

SAN DIEGO, May 8 (UPI) -- Peter Robbins, the voice of Charlie Brown in "A Charlie Brown Christmas," was sentenced in San Diego to a year in jail for threatening an ex-girlfriend.

Robbins was arrested in January for stalking and threatening an ex-girlfriend and her plastic surgeon. He pleaded guilty in April and was sentenced Wednesday to time served, TMZ reported.

He avoided further jail time by participating in an eight-month rehabilitation program, the entertainment news website said.

Robbins, who also voiced Charlie Brown in "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," was ordered to stay away from the doctor for 10 years and will be on probation for five years. He also has to pay $15,081.90 in restitution to the ex-girlfriend.
