GRAND HAVEN, Mich., May 7 (UPI) -- The search for a woman believed kidnapped turned to Harbor Island, north of Grand Haven, Mich., after an anonymous tip was received, authorities said.

The 140-acre island in an inlet of Lake Michigan and notable for wildlife watching, is the latest site in the investigation of the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa, 25, WOOD-TV, Grand Rapids, reported Tuesday.

Heeringa hasn't been seen since April 26 when she was working at a local gas station and convenience store.

Michigan State Police and the Norton Shores Police Department are investigating the newest lead in Heeringa's disappearance, Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw said, who added he was not certain of the legitimacy of the tip.
