OKLAHOMA CITY, May 6 (UPI) -- Undercover FBI employees won and lost thousands of dollars in an undercover investigation of Oklahoma gambling operations, federal records show.

The FBI used the ruse to identify suspected bookmaking operations in Oklahoma and to gather information on a gambling website during a lengthy investigation, The (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman reported Monday.

In April, 34 people were indicted in federal court on charges of operating an illegal sports bookmaking operation known as Legendz Sports, the newspaper said.

The company solicited bets of more than "$1 billion on sporting events from gamblers in the united States, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year," grand jurors alleged in the indictment, which noted Legendz Sports had a call center in Panama, Okla.
