A police report indicates Paris Poe, 33, was apprehended "following a high risk traffic stop" by a SWAT team on Madison's east side shortly after 7 p.m., the Wisconsin Radio Network reported. He had been seen at a hotel in Fitchburg.
Poe was convicted in Illinois of aggravated battery and robbery in 2009, and was being sought in a federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid custody and confinement in Illinois.
The FBI said Poe was released on parole in 2011 and has been charged with traveling interstate to avoid custody for a parole violation.
