House fire kills 1 resident, injures 2 firefighters

BOSTON, April 28 (UPI) -- A house fire in Boston early Sunday killed one resident and injured two firefighters, officials said.

The fire broke out at about 6:30 a.m. and fully engulfed the upper floors and attic, the Boston Herald reported. About 18 people lived in the house.

"It got so bad that the chief ordered everyone out of the building," Boston Fire spokesman Steve MacDonald said. "One resident told us someone was missing. We could not make entry. We knew there was a good possibility we would find someone inside."

The victim's body was later found in the attic.

Two firefighters were injured while battling the blaze, MacDonald said. One fell through the second story floor and the other fell down the stairs.

The firefighters and other residents of the house were brought to the hospital. Their injuries were non-life-threatening.
