A server containing data on about 50 million customers was compromised. When logging in for the first time since the cyberattack customers will be asked to reset their password for security purposes, LivingSocial Chief Executive Officer Tim O'Shaughnessy said Friday.

Customers' credit card information was not stolen, the company, which has its headquarters in Washington, D.C., said.
