DETROIT, April 26 (UPI) -- A Detroit-area man was arrested after process servers sent to evict him from a mobile home found a woman's body in the living room, police said.

The woman had been dead for months, investigators said.

Dennis McCauley, 64, of Redford was charged with failing to report a death, theft and other crimes, The Detroit News reported. He identified the dead woman as Ann Marquis, 72.

Sgt. Kevin Crittenden said the process servers summoned police to Long's Mobile Home Court in Redford after they saw Marquis' body on the living room couch Monday.

"We were met by a man who acknowledged living there for the past couple of years, and he told us it was the body of Ann Marquis," Crittenden said. "He said he didn't really know how long she had been dead."

Investigators say Marquis died of natural causes, possibly as long ago as November.
