WILLIAMSBURG, Va., April 19 (UPI) -- A small airplane carrying at least two people crashed in a retirement community in Virginia Friday afternoon, killing at least one person, authorities said.

The Virginia Gazette said the Cessna went down about 5 p.m. EDT in Williamsburg Landing, a retirement community near the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport.

The newspaper said fire officials confirmed one death and said at least one other person was aboard the aircraft. The victims' names had not been released.

The Newport Beach Daily Press reported the plane crashed on Boatright Court and wound up in a wooded area about 50 yards from a home.
