Questions remain in the case in which a judge found Trent Mays, 17, and Malik Richmond, 16, delinquent in March on rape charges, the equivalent of a guilty verdict in an adult court, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Tuesday.
The rape victim, 16, testified she was intoxicated and did not remember the sexual assaults, which were videotaped and photographed by witnesses.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said after the ruling additional charges could include evidence tampering, obstruction of justice and failure by teachers and coaches to report a sexual assault. He noted 16 potential witnesses refused to testify in the trial.
How teenagers at a series of parties in the summer of 2012 obtained alcohol, and the role of parents at the homes where the parties and the rape occurred, are among the questions the trial did not answer, the newspaper said.
