US Airways plane veers off runway at Charlotte, N.C., airport

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 15 (UPI) -- A US Airways plane ran off the runway while landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina, officials said. No one was injured.

The incident happened Sunday night as Flight 2658 from Myrtle Beach landed at the airport in Charlotte, The Charlotte Observer reported.

The plane was coming to a halt when the nose gear edged off the runway, US Airways spokesman Bill McGlashen said. The cause of the incident was not immediately determined.

None of the plane's 79 passengers was injured. They were shuttled to the terminal by bus, the newspaper said.
