TAMPA, Fla., April 11 (UPI) -- The couple accused of kidnapping their children in Florida and fleeing to Cuba will be held without bail at least until Monday, prosecutors said Thursday.

During a hearing Monday in Tampa, prosecutors say they plan to present evidence that Joshua Michael Hakken and his wife, Sharyn, should be denied bond, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

The couple returned to Tampa Wednesday morning after Cuban authorities turned them over to U.S. law enforcement officials.

Joshua Hakken, 35, is accused of kidnapping his sons, ages 2 and 4, after tying up his mother-in-law at her Tampa-area home April 3. He and his wife then sailed to Cuba with the children on a 25-foot sailboat.

The Hakkens are being held in a high-security area of the Hillsborough County jail.

They face state charges including false imprisonment, interference with custody, child neglect and kidnapping. They do not face federal charges.
