AMARILLO, Texas, April 11 (UPI) -- The Texas millionaire founder of the "Cadillac Ranch" outside Amarillo, Texas, was indicted Thursday on sexual assault charges, officials said.
A Potter County grand jury issued six indictments against 75-year-old Stanley Marsh 3, the Amarillo Globe-News reported. The indictments include sexual assault of a child, sexual performance by a child, and two counts of indecency with a child.
In February, Marsh settled civil suits with 10 men alleging he paid them for sex as teenagers. He has been free on bond since turning himself in after an arrest warrant was issued in November, the newspaper said.
The abuse was alleged to have occurred in 2010 and 2011, the newspaper said.
Marsh, who uses the numeral 3 rather than III in his name, was accused in the civil lawsuits of allegedly giving the plaintiffs money, drugs and even cars, to perform sex acts in his Amarillo office and at his home.
Marsh, an oil heir, is known for funding the creation of the "Cadillac Ranch" public art installation in the 1970s. The exhibit features 10 Cadillacs, all in bright colors, buried nose down along Interstate 40.
