WASHINGTON, April 6 (UPI) -- FBI agents visited the suburban Washington home of former CIA director David Petraeus, officials said.

The agents visited Petraeus' home for an interview Friday, NBC News reported.

Officials did not say whether any new development in the FBI's investigation into whether writer Paula Broadwell improperly received classified documents while she was writing Petraeus' biography.

Petraeus, who was commander of U.S. and U.N. forces in Afghanistan before taking over at the CIA, stepped down from his position as director in November after it was revealed Petraeus, who is married, had engaged in an affair with Broadwell. Since then, the FBI has been looking into a number of documents that were in allegedly in Broadwell's possession and trying to determine whether they were properly classified when they were given to her.
