Colorado hiker dies in fall

GOLDEN, Colo., April 6 (UPI) -- A 62-year-old hiker fell 40-60 feet to his death near Golden, Colo., Saturday, authorities said.

The man was with his adult children when the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. local time along a popular trail located off Highway 6 near Tunnel One, KUSA-TV, Denver, reported.

Karlyn Tilley of the Golden Fire Department said it took rescue crews about a half-hour to reach the victim, the TV station said.
