Florida man arrested for child porn

April 5, 2013 at 9:03 AM

LEESBURG, Fla., April 5 (UPI) -- Florida police said they arrested a man who had up to 1 million child pornography videos and images in his home, the largest collection they've found.

John Edward Shearen, 51, of Leesburg, Fla., was arrested Thursday on 15 counts of possession of child pornography and 15 counts of distribution of child pornography, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

FDLE spokesman Steve Arthur said Shearen's collection of videos and images was the largest authorities had discovered in state history.

The images were said to be found on computers and mass media storage devices. Police said they also found girl's underwear and swimsuits in Shearen's apartment, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

He (told us) that he utilizes them himself but it's virtually impossible," FDLE Special Agent Jeff Duncan told CNN affiliate WFTV-TV, Orlando, Fla.

Police said Shearen admitted to his crimes. He was booked into Lake County Jail with no bond, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported.
