Va. police say arson string reaches 70

ACCOMAC, Va., April 1 (UPI) -- Virginia State Police said investigators suspect arson in a fire in a two-story structure, the latest of 70 fires in abandoned Eastern Shore buildings.

The fire was reported shortly after 9:15 p.m. Sunday at a building in a wooded area on Drummondtown Road in Accomack County, The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported.

No injuries were reported.

The string of fires in abandoned buildings started in mid-November.

Police offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the arson cases.
