March 31, 2013 at 11:59 PM

NEW YORK, March 31 (UPI) -- A former Columbia University student was found dead of an apparent drug overdose Sunday in a friend's dormitory room at the New York school, police said.

Jessica Fingers, 21, of Monticello, N.Y., who left the Ivy League school last year, and her boyfriend had been visiting her female friend this weekend, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.

Police do not suspect foul play in Fingers' death, the newspaper said.

The Post's sources said Fingers and her boyfriend were doing drugs. She was found unconscious by her boyfriend and the female friend shortly before noon, police said.

New York magazine reported Fingers had been on leave for a year after entering the school with the class of 2013.
